The ensemble Rovesnik was created in 1958. In February of 2018, the ensemble celebrated its 60th anniversary. Today, it has more than 500 boys and girls ranging from 4 to 17 years old. The repertoire of Rovesnik includes Belarusian folk dances, stylized Belarusian folk dances, children’s dance pictures and dances of the people of the world.
The ensemble has an active schedule of concert and touring activities. It participates in cultural and festival events in the country of Belarus and its capital while also traveling abroad to ensure the popularization of Belarus’s national culture and traditions. One of the most important tasks of the ensemble is to participate in international cultural activity and promote Belarusian art abroad.
During Rovesnik’s 60 years of existence, more than 10,000 children have been taught the Belarusian culture of dance, and the group has become one of the leaders in the aesthetic and moral upbringing of children and youth. In 2004, Rovesnik became the first children’s collective in the country to receive the “Honored Amateur Collective of the Republic of Belarus” award from the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Belarus. In 2005, the ensemble received a special President’s Award in the category of “Raising of the Cultural Youth.”
Revesnik has participated in many international festivals and competitions in countries around the world including France, Turkey, Estonia, China, Russia, Morocco, Finland, South Korea and Poland as well as many more.
